Looking to decorate your walls? Here are some simple guidelines to get you started.

My incredibly talented friend Olivia wrote an article for the Atlantic (!!!) last week about her struggles with OCD and how our culture belittles and stigmatizes those who suffer from it. An excerpt:

“Obsessions fuel compulsions. When I had thoughts of hurting people I loved, I would kiss or
press my tongue to the floor, recalling a ritual I’d seen in church. My loving God became a vengeful deity, one who would kill my family members before he would watch me disobey a compulsion. When I was 17 and living in Manhattan, this meant kissing dirty streets and subway floors. I would pretend to search for something under a seat on the train and peck the spotty ground with my
 lips. “

My NYC history class saw The Human Scale three weeks ago and I still can’t stop thinking about it. Three weeks is FOREVER in Millennial Years™ you guys. It’s about urban design and city planning and it will terrify and heart warm you all at the same time.

I’ve lived in New York for almost 3 years and I’ve FINALLY found a hair person I adore. Her name is Angela, and she has a cute little salon (3 chairs I think) in Park Slope called Union Beauty. If you’re looking for a wonder woman with curly hair, she’s your gal.

Are we friends on Pinterest? We should be! I’m particularly proud of my DIY Ideas board and my Not Your Grandma’s Embroidery board

I’m swoooooning over these 21st Century Mod pictures.

I went to a montessori school and I still use a lot of the principles I learned there today which is why this playroom warms my heart.

Traveling places that are off the beaten path is the best. The last trip I took was to take a sociology class in Abu Dhabi, which I would add to this list of Seven Underrated Places to Travel.

I live with two of my best friends, and it’s so rewarding in SO many ways but it means that I can’t just decide to paint walls and buy furniture and style things however I want in our kitchen/living room/bathroom, and we rent so there’s little I could do even if I wanted to so this roundup from Apartment Therapy was a nice reminder to love the home you have.

That’s it for this week! Did you see anything around the internet that I missed? Let me know in the comments!
